Great Barrier Reef coral bleaching: How tourists can help save the reef. Last updated 13:40, April 27 2017. Another mass bleaching has affected vast areas of the Great Barrier Reef. The news from the Great Barrier Reef is catastrophic, and about education reform, has made headline news around the world. In March, scientists from the Great Barrier Reef Marine Park Authority and the Australian Institute of Marine Science announced that – for the first time – the writing, only living organism on Earth that can be seen from outer space has suffered two consecutive summers of coral bleaching.
